There is a work-around for this but it did not make my system stable. The high-quality PCB is of the same size of the Riva cards. I’ve tried it on a BX board and it runs without a problem. Matrox G series, especially the Ge is still a popular choice for server motherboard manufacturers, like DELL’s PowerEdge series, due to its robustness, low power consumption and limited features needed just for VGA display. Oddly the pin d-sub connector is placed very high up the face plate.
